Hurricane Francine

The carriers are closely monitoring Hurricane Francine as it moves towards Louisiana. Their top priorities are the safety and well-being of their team members, as well as providing their customers with the highest level of service possible. Delays and disruptions can be expected for inbound and outbound shipments in the affected region as the storm progresses. Contingency plans have been activated, and they are committed to providing service to the best of their ability in areas that can be safely accessed.

Customers can expect pickup and delivery services in the New Orleans and Lafayette, LA markets to be impacted on Wednesday, September 11 due to local conditions and restrictions.

Increase to Notary Fees

Beginning in January 2024, the DOL began rulemaking considering raising the maximum fees a notary may charge for notarial acts from $10 to $15, based on a rulemaking petition and additional industry feedback.

When does this take effect?

On June 22, 2024 new fees for notarial acts went into effect under Chapter 308.30.220 WAC. You should be aware of the following changes:

  • The maximum fees a notary may charge for notarial acts have increased to $15.00 from $10.00.

On November 1, 2024 we will enact this increase to in store notarial acts.

International Mail Service Suspensions

Updated: Aug. 2, 2024

Effective August 30, 2024, the Postal Service will suspend international mail acceptance to Bhutan until further notice due to unavailable transportation. 

Customers are asked to refrain from mailing the following services to Bhutan until further notice:

  • Priority Mail Express International (PMEI)
  • Priority Mail International (PMI)
  • First-Class Package International Service (FCPIS)
  • International Priority Airmail (IPA) Packets
  • International Priority Airmail (IPA) M-bags
  • Airmail M-bags

Unless otherwise noted, service suspensions to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.

For already deposited items (PMEI, PMI, FCPIS, IPA Packets, IPA M-bags, and Airmail M-bags, entered on or after 8/30/24), the Postal Service will endorse the items as “Mail Service Suspended — Return to Sender” and place them in the mail stream for return to sender.

 

The Postal Service™ is temporarily suspending international mail acceptance for certain destinations due to impacts related to the COVID-19 pandemic and other unrelated service disruptions. Customers: please refrain from mailing items addressed to the countries listed here, until further notice.

These service disruptions affect Priority Mail Express International® (PMEI), Priority Mail International® (PMI), First-Class Mail International® (FCMI), First-Class Package International Service® (FCPIS®), International Priority Airmail® (IPA®), International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®), and M-Bag® items.

*Niue’s service disruption affects Priority Mail Express International® (PMEI)

Unless otherwise noted, service suspensions to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.

For already deposited items, other than GXG: Postal Service employees endorse them “Mail Service Suspended — Return to Sender” and then place them in the mail stream for return.
For any returned item bearing a customs form: The Postal Service will, upon request, refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service.
For all other returned items not bearing a customs declarations form: The Postal Service will, upon request, refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service.

Global Express Guaranteed® Service Suspensions and Disruptions

Effective March 8, 2022, the Postal Service is temporarily suspending international mail acceptance of Global Express Guaranteed® (GXG®) to the following destinations:

Unless otherwise noted, service suspensions to a particular country do not affect delivery of military and diplomatic mail.

Priority Mail Express International®

Effective October 25, 2021, due to airline travel restrictions and cancellations, the U.S. Postal Service has temporarily suspended the guarantee on Priority Mail Express International® to the following destinations:

These suspensions will be in effect until further notice. The Postal Service is taking all reasonable measures to minimize impact to customers.
